Chromium Carbide

Chromium carbide is widely used in thermal spray processes, often blended with nickel-chromium, to create hard, wear-resistant coatings that protect components from high-temperature oxidation and erosion.

Chromium carbide is used as a sputtering target material to deposit thin films that provide high hardness and chemical stability for decorative or functional protective coatings.

It is used as an alloying additive in the production of specialized steels and cemented carbides to refine grain structure and improve corrosion and wear resistance.

Due to its high melting point and chemical stability, chromium carbide is utilized in refractory applications where resistance to molten metals and high-temperature environments is required.
