Versatility makes them a popular choice for thin film deposition
Thin films typically ranging in thickness from a few nanometers to several micrometers, are deposited through various deposition techniques for multiple applications, including semiconductor devices, solar cells, sensors, and coatings. The process often begins with starter sources, which provide the material to be deposited onto substrates. Starter sources namely, inserts, pellets, granules, and shots are commonly used as precursor materials for thin film deposition due to their special features such as,
Ease of handling
Ensuring a high degree of precision in the film thickness
Ability to deliver consistent material for deposition processes
LTS Research Laboratories, Inc. produces the starter source material by pressure-sintering, E-beam melting, and Vacuum-melting. Our starter sources are facile and ready for the deposition process. We manufacture superior E-beam deposition cones for thin film applications. We supply these starter sources in metal, oxide, or fluoride formulations. Based on the customer's request, we can manufacture insert liners in custom and standard sizes such as 13 cc, 15 cc, 20 cc, 25 cc, and 40 cc to fit your needs. We offer custom sizing and crucible design. Pre-melted suboxides of the following material are also available.
