Copper telluride is utilized as a sputtering target material for the deposition of thin films in photovoltaic devices and phase-change memory applications.

Used as a p-type semiconductor material and as a dopant or contact layer in cadmium telluride (CdTe) solar cells to improve ohmic contact.

Employed in physical vapor deposition processes to create stoichiometric thin films for thermoelectric and optoelectronic research.
