Fluorine doped Tin Oxide is used as a sputtering target material to deposit transparent conductive oxide (TCO) thin films onto glass or plastic substrates for electronic displays and smart windows.

FTO is a critical component in optoelectronic devices, serving as a transparent electrode in dye-sensitized solar cells, perovskite solar cells, and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Used as an n-type semiconductor material in thin-film transistors and gas sensors due to its high carrier concentration and wide bandgap.
