Stainless Steel 347 powder is utilized in selective laser melting (SLM) and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) for producing stabilized, corrosion-resistant components for aerospace and high-temperature environments.

SS347 is used as a thermal spray feedstock to provide oxidation and corrosion resistance to substrates operating at elevated temperatures, particularly where intergranular corrosion must be avoided.

Stainless Steel 347 sputtering targets are used to deposit thin films that require high-temperature stability and resistance to sensitization in corrosive environments.

Due to the addition of niobium as a stabilizer, SS347 is used in high-temperature chemical processing equipment to prevent chromium carbide precipitation during service at 427-816 °C.
