Indium tin oxide is a material that conducts electricity while remaining transparent, which makes it suitable for to use as an electrical layer in display screens and touch panels.1,2 In solar cells and light-emitting devices, ITO is used to collect or deliver electrical current without blocking the light entering or leaving the device.2,3 ITO films are typically applied as thin coatings using sputtering or evaporation methods, which are standard techniques for uniform conductive layers or glass and other substrates.4 Doped ITO compositions are used when different electrical behavior is needed, allowing performance to be adjusted for specific device requirements such as displays, sensors and energy devices.1,2
